Vanhelga

Vanhelga were formed in Linköping in 2001 by J. Ottosson. The Swedish name translates roughly as “to profane” or “to desecrate”. The band combines depressive and atmospheric black metal with rock influences and a direct engagement with isolation, self-destruction and the darker sides of human experience.

Two releases define the Talheim catalogue connection. Urban Negativism brought Vanhelga, Ofdrykkja, Psychonaut 4 and In Luna together on an international split CD in 2015. Ode & Elegy followed in 2016, moving across eleven tracks from Utan mening to Introspektion through melancholy, aggression and inward reflection.
