History and Context

Heimdalls Wacht have long stood for an individual approach to German black metal. The official band material documents a discography reaching from Westfälischer Schlachtenlärm through Der Untergang der alten Welt and the Ut de graute olle Tied works to Mystagogie – Lieder voll Ewigkeit and the Ursprung EP. The band links a deep underground history with a distinctly conceptual way of writing.

With Sphärenschänder: Echoes Of An Old Belief – Part I, a new Talheim Records chapter begins on October 31, 2026. The material describes the record as the band’s ninth studio album and as the opening part of a two-part work in which Heimdall awakens as a figure out of time, facing a modern world that has become alien to him.

Heimdalls Wacht remain rooted in raw, melancholic and melodic black metal while opening the sound toward folk, doom, more traditional heavy metal, progressive structures and shades of thrash and death metal.
