Psychonaut 4 / Cheerful Depression / Культура Курения / Hovert

About the Release

Released in 2014, this four-way split brings together four distinct approaches to depressive and atmospheric darkness. Psychonaut 4 from Georgia and Hovert from Russia belong to Talheim Records’ current roster. Lithuania’s Cheerful Depression and Novosibirsk’s Культура Курения participated in this specific release but did not have artist contracts with Talheim Records. Psychonaut 4 open with თბილისო (The City That Loves You) and Bad Morning!. Cheerful Depression continue with three tracks before Культура Курения contribute their interpretation of Der Golem’s Нет. Hovert close the split with Без слов and the nearly ten-minute Одиночество. Across eight tracks, the release reveals common ground without flattening the identity of any participant. Talheim Records issued the split on 29 May 2014 under catalogue number TR018CD. Limited to 500 copies, it came as a four-panel digipak with a twelve-page booklet. All four contributors are connected to this release page, while their respective roster or cooperation relationships remain clearly distinguished.
