“Posthumous” is an album by Lacrima Mortis from Brazil. The release places Lacrima Mortis within Death/Doom Metal and appeared in the Talheim Records catalogue on 28 May 2020. Work on Posthumous began in the second half of 2018. Recording took place late that year and early in 2019 at Fernando Cebola’s small studio in a nearby city; mixing continued through 2019. Cebola helped integrate Gregorian chants, testing ideas with the band and discarding those that did not work. The album combines recovered older material with newer songs. Requiem linked its emotional range to lived grief, including his mother’s death from cancer during composition, without claiming the record as a literal autobiography. The tracklist contains 9 tracks with a documented total running time of 47:57. It opens with “Miserere” and closes with “Dereliquit Deum (Outro)”. The sequence centres on “Saudade”. “Words of Blood” occupies the most space at 10:46. The catalogue lists the release as CD Digipak under TR065CD.
