About the Release

Geister des Winters connects two distinct readings of atmospheric black metal. Dämmerfarben shape side A with Wintergang, Der Blätter Abschiedslieder and an interpretation of Throndt’s Northern Shore, placing acoustic and nature-oriented motifs beside gradually increasing metallic weight. Blaze of Sorrow take over side B with Lumi and L’Orma del cervo. The two longer pieces provide an Italian, melancholic counterpoint and complete the split as a deliberate dialogue between both bands. The gatefold LP was released on 25 May 2015 as a release collaboration. A white edition and a white-and-black marbled edition are documented. The participating artists therefore appear in the catalogue context, not as former or current roster acts.
