With The Architecture of Negativity, In Luna return through Talheim Records on 10 October 2026. The international project between Chile and Spain moves between Depressive Black Metal, Shoegaze and Post-Black Metal, shaping despair, isolation and self-reflection into a dense and dark album statement. The release is available as a CD digipak and digitally.
In Luna - project background
In Luna was founded in 2011 by Aukka and Uruksoth. Aukka defines the project through guitar, bass and programming, while Uruksoth gives In Luna its voice. From the beginning, the project has centred on the meeting point between depressive black metal, floating shoegaze textures and post-metal atmosphere. Intimate, pessimistic lyrics and a strong pull towards inner darkness became central to its identity.
In 2015, In Luna released the debut album Forgotten Lives and the split release Urban Negativism, appearing alongside acts such as Psychonaut 4, Ofdrykkja and Vanhelga. Those early works placed the project within an international underground context where melancholy, raw emotion and atmospheric weight are tightly connected.
The Architecture of Negativity
The Architecture of Negativity is conceived as a dark journey through the mind, desolation and loss. The album presents negativity not as an outside force, but as a state of consciousness. Melancholic melodies, crushing riffs and a claustrophobic atmosphere meet songs that take their time, building tension through repetition, density and emotional pressure.
The four tracks feel like chapters in a single inward descent. See Disappear opens the album with a direct confrontation with loss and disappearance. A Grey Day in Summer drains the light from an otherwise warm image and turns it cold. Mountains of Anxiety leads the inner landscape into peaks of anxiety and depression, before The Empty Smile closes the album with the image of a frozen, hollow gesture.
Musicians and production
For the recording of The Architecture of Negativity, Aukka and Uruksoth were joined by two guest musicians: the drummer of Gaerea and the bassist of Hrizg. Their presence gives the album a physical force that does not overwhelm its melancholic and shoegaze-like layers, but adds weight to them.
