About Sacrimoon

León, autumn 2012

Sacrimoon emerged from the Mexican depressive black-metal underground. Its history is closely connected with the work of Nergot and with a network of projects that includes Lifeless and later Stupor, while Kjiel is documented in the wider Sacrimoon orbit. Exact founding circumstances and the earliest division of roles remain insufficiently documented.

The official Bandcamp account supplies a firmer beginning than secondary catalogues: Sacrimoon was created in León in autumn 2012 as L. Nergot’s one-person project, and Kjiel joined in 2014. That chronology also clarifies the relation to Lifeless. The shared musicians and emotional vocabulary are documented connections, but the two projects have separate discographies and should never be collapsed into one biography.

The official biography fixes two important dates that older directory summaries often blur: L. Nergot began Sacrimoon alone in autumn 2012, and Kjiel joined in 2014. That two-year interval includes the earliest releases and therefore belongs to Nergot’s solo phase. The later Italian-Mexican description applies to the collaboration, not retroactively to the foundation. This distinction also helps separate Sacrimoon from Lifeless and other projects in which the same musicians appear.

A catalogue built in public fragments

Early recordings established Sacrimoon's focus on grief, separation and inward collapse. The project developed through independent and underground channels rather than through a single continuous label history, making release-level sources especially important when reconstructing its chronology.

Bandcamp lists a rapid early sequence: Life Depression & Death in 2012, Suicide Delusions in 2013, The End (Part I) in 2014 and Reflections of My Suicide Melancholy in 2015. Lost in an Endless Delighted Illusion followed in 2019 and Disconsolateness in 2021. The surviving pages establish titles and dates but not always whether the musicians regard each item as an album, demo, EP or compilation. A definitive discography must therefore preserve the public sequence while asking the band to classify it.

From solitary project to a two-person language

Across its catalogue, the music moves between depressive black-metal abrasion, slower atmospheric passages and a more song-oriented depressive-rock pull. That development should not be reduced to a single genre label: the contrast between harsh vocals, melodic guitar language and quieter spaces is central to the recorded identity.

Kjiel’s arrival gave the project a stable vocal counterpart while Nergot retained responsibility for the instrumental body. That division is clearest in the 2023 credits: guitars, bass and drums are assigned to Nergot, voices to Kjiel. It would nevertheless be unsafe to infer the same division for every earlier release. The chronology records collaboration only where credits support it and treats the wider network around Eyelessight, Angor Animi and Lifeless as context rather than one merged artistic biography.

I'm gonna miss you

Its title frames absence directly, while the album continues the project's long engagement with personal loss. Earlier works belong in the wider chronology, but their dates and editions require confirmation from the band before a final long-form publication.

The Bandcamp chronology begins with Life Depression & Death in 2012, followed by Suicide Delusions, The End (Part I), Reflections of My Suicide Melancholy, Lost in an Endless Delighted Illusion and the 2021 single Disconsolateness. The final album contains eight tracks and credits Nergot with guitars, bass and drums and Kjiel with voices. Bandcamp dates it to 4 November 2023, while the label-facing digital edition is dated 24 November; this is best treated as a release-window or edition question.

The eight-track album gathers a decade of the project under a title that speaks directly in the language of absence. Its Bandcamp date is 4 November 2023, while label-facing services and the TRG campaign use 24 November. Rather than choose one date and erase the other, the draft identifies a likely digital-to-label release window. The exact manufacturing date, catalogue number and whether the Bandcamp upload preceded the physical edition remain questions for the release file.

The 2023 Talheim edition

Talheim Records Germany released I'm gonna miss you on 24 November 2023 as TRG013CD. The relationship documented here concerns that edition and must not be extended to Sacrimoon's earlier independent or third-party releases without evidence.
