Obskene Sonare

Obskene Sonare is an Austrian black-metal project from Vienna, founded by Akanoth in 2006. Conceived as an independent studio work, its music combines raw black-metal structures with melodic, atmospheric and at times experimental passages.

The material for Der letzte weiße Hirsch was recorded in 2009 and later prepared for release. Its nine tracks move from the opening title piece through Deszendenz and Scenocide to Als der Anblick des Mondes meine Erinnerung weckte. Shifting tempos, recurring melodies and German-language lyrics give the album a coherent identity without reducing it to one narrow genre label.

Talheim Records released Der letzte weiße Hirsch on CD in 2018. This profile documents that specific catalogue release, the period in which it was created and the project behind it.
